Volunteer With Us!

“We are doing everything in our power to keep our volunteers and clients safe. Our facility is sanitized and cleaned daily by our wonderful environmental services staff.”

Volunteers are the heart of our organization. We could not begin to change lives in the Mid-South without caring friends like our volunteers.

A volunteer at our organization can gain priceless work experience, build connections with local leadership, and bring hope to someone’s life.

Volunteer COVID-19 FAQ’s

I would love to volunteer at Mid-South Food Bank. How do I sign up?

Volunteer opportunities can be viewed and registered for on VOMO.

Is there a minimum age to sign up for volunteer opportunities?

For safety purposes, all MSFB volunteers must be ten years of age. Volunteers younger than 15 must be accompanied by someone at least 15 years of age. Chaperones must participate in the volunteer activity as seating is not available in the lobby for the duration of the volunteer activity. There are some opportunities that require volunteers to be older. This will be visible on VOMO.

There aren’t any opportunities listed for the date that I would like to visit.

The volunteer opportunities are tasked based and given to us directly from various MSFB departments. As it is difficult to predict when these tasks are available, opportunities will be posted on a weekly basis.

Are you accepting volunteer groups?

We are accepting volunteer groups, with a minimal of 10 volunteers, up to 50. For larger groups, please contact Volunteer Services at 901.373.0400 or volunteer@midsouthfoodbank.org.

What are you doing to keep volunteers safe from COVID-19?

We will be following social distancing guidelines. Families who live together will be able to work closer together. Masks are required as per local law. Masks will be available for those who do not have them. The work area and equipment are sanitized on a consistent basis. Volunteers will be required to complete a health screen and temperature check prior to their shift.

Will there be after-hours opportunities available?

As of now, after-hour volunteer opportunities are limited. If available, they will be posted on VOMO.

I still have questions.

We would be delighted to help! Please contact Volunteer Services at 901.373.0400 or volunteer@midsouthfoodbank.org
