4 Open Positions

1) Warehouse Worker (full time)

Responsibilities:·Receive, inspect and properly weigh and/or count all incoming products ·Accurately pull orders for pickup and delivery ·Load delivery orders and unload shipments as needed ·Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with Food Bank safety and sanitation policies; ensure that the warehouse facility meets Memphis and Shelby County Health Department guidelines by assisting in daily cleaning as well as the maintenance of the outside perimeters ·Maintain working relationships that ensure the success of Food Bank programs.  This includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with donors, volunteers, agency representatives, Food Bank management and staff ·Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications:·High school diploma or equivalent ·Good verbal and written communication skills ·Ability to operate a forklift and a manual or powered pallet jack, forklift certification a plus ·Demonstrated attention to detail, knowledge of good record keeping procedures and the ability to maintain accurate and legible records and current files ·Prior warehouse, production, food service experience preferred ·Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds ·Ability to successfully complete a Safe Food Handling Course ·Ability to work well with donor, volunteers, agency representatives, volunteers, senior aides and other Food Bank staff ·Acceptance of philosophy of food banking

2) Warehouse Reclamation Handler (full time)

Responsibilities: Receive, inspect and properly weigh and/or count all incoming salvage ·Accurately scan products into data system and meet minimum production goals ·Properly clean, presort, pack and label product for distribution to partner agencies ·Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with Food Bank safety and sanitation policies; ensure that the warehouse facility meets Memphis and Shelby County Health Department guidelines by assisting in daily cleaning as well as the maintenance ·Maintain working relationships that ensure the success of Food Bank programs.  This includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with donors, volunteers, agency representatives, Food Bank management and staff ·Assure completion of daily duties within the Reclamation area are completed prior to working warehouse duties as assigned by the warehouse manager. ·Assist and work to sort and pack various products, including but not limited to meats, assorted cans, assorted non-perishables, bakery, produce and bulk packed products. ·Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  ·High school diploma or equivalent ·Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to write legibly and perform basic math ·Demonstrated attention to detail, knowledge of good record keeping procedures and the ability to maintain accurate and legible records ·Prior warehouse, production, food service experience preferred ·Ability to operate a forklift and a manual or powered pallet jack, forklift certification a plus ·Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time ·Ability to successfully complete a Safe Food Handling Course ·Ability to work at a fast pace ·Ability to work well with donor, volunteers, agency representatives, volunteers, senior aides and other Food Bank staff ·Acceptance of philosophy of food banking

3) Agency Mart Coordinator (full time)

Job Summary: Serves as primary representative in the agency mart area.  Assists agencies with checkout, information, and other customer service functions during regular shopping hours.  Instructs volunteers on their duties and oversees entire shopping process.

Responsibilities: ·Oversee the proper distribution of products, ensuring that agencies adhere to all Food Banks policies and procedures. ·Coordinate agency orders including agency order pick up, data entry, generating invoices, accepting payments from agency representatives, posting and closing out daily invoices. Report any discrepancies to Agency Relations Manager. ·Supervise senior aides and volunteers. Prepare and submit senior aides’ time sheets to Meritan. ·Ensure the pantry facility meets the Feeding America and Memphis/ Shelby County Health Department guidelines. ·Greet Agency Reps and ensure they sign in and adhere to agency mart procedures.  Ensure the pantry is well stocked. Identify close-dated items and distribute to agencies in a timely manner. ·Maintain a safe, neat, and clean agency mart. ·Identify agency shopping trends and make recommendations to management. Work with agency relations to promote products to agencies. (cooking demonstrations, Frantic Friday) ·Ensure that refrigeration and freezer equipment is operating properly. ·Maintain working relationships that ensure the success of Food Bank programs. This includes maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with agency representatives, Food Bank management and staff. ·Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: ·At least two years of  college or a minimum of four years retail experience ·Ability to guide senior aide staff and volunteers to ensure they are working efficiently. ·Ability to successfully complete Safe Food Handling certification. ·Computer skills and the ability to work efficiently in Navision Inventory system.. ·Ability to maintain accurate and legible records. ·Must work well with agency representatives, volunteers, and other Food Bank staff. ·Ability to communicate clearly and write legibly. ·Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. ·Ability to work in a diverse environment. ·Previous forklift and pallet jack experience. 4) Development Officer (full time)

Job Summary: The Development Officer works closely with the CEO to develop and implement strategy for major gift donor relationship management (manage, nurture, upgrade) to meet short and long-term goals of the department.  The primary objective is of the Development Officer is to increase financial donations to the Mid- South Food Bank and develop long-term relationships built on a firm understanding of donors’ interests, passions and values.

Responsibilities:   Relationship Management and Solicitation ·Oversee and manage all aspects of the major gifts program for Mid-South Food Bank, to include solicitation of new donations and supervising annual gifts of $5,000 or more from all financial supporters of the Mid- South Food Bank. ·Oversee and manage, with the exception of the direct mail program,  donations and gifts of less than $5,000 to include solicitation of new donations and upgrading current donors to the major gift category.  The activity relating to these under $5,000 donations should comprise approximately 20% of the Development Manager’s time. ·Establish and maintain a donor cultivation cycle and gift stewardship program to ensure that new major donors are developed, have opportunities to increase their level of support annually, and enjoy a close relationship with the Mid-South Food Bank. ·Develop strategic funding requests based on immediate and long term funding goals of the organization for high net worth individuals and corporations as appropriate. ·Responsible for researching, cultivating, soliciting and closing all major gifts in his or her portfolio and for equipping and prompting the CEO. ·Manage relationship management process for individual major gift donors including conducting prospect solicitation briefings with primary relationship managers and volunteer solicitors. ·         Cultivate and expand current giving by planned gift donors and integrate planned gift objectives into major individual donor requests in collaboration with the CDO. ·Lead the prospect management process and serve as primary liaison with Major Gifts Committee. Work with this committee to develop levels of support. Develop strategies to facilitate personal solicitation of prospects by committee members. 

Cultivation and Stewardship ·Plan and implement funding campaigns, events and activities (volunteer experiences, tours, receptions, etc.) for individual donors and prospective donors  using existing activities as appropriate. ·         Write gift proposals and stewardship reports as needed. ·Contribute to the development of donor solicitation materials. ·Assist in developing strategies , with CEO approval(adapting existing strategies) to ensure regular stewardship of donors. This includes thank you campaigns, investor reports, email blasts, as well as new ideas for how we can keep donors (prospects) informed. ·Manage and coordinate volunteer donor groups to cultivate and request new gifts 

Monitoring and Reporting ·Monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activity to achieve gift revenue goals. ·Provide regular reporting on the gifts program to the senior leadership team. ·Manage donor records management and administration as well as data and trend analysis in an accurate and timely manner. · Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly activity reports to senior leadership. ·Work within assigned database and maintain accurate, complete and timely donor records.

Qualifications: ·Bachelor’s degree ·5-7 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, major gift experience preferred; ·Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively; ·Results oriented and strong attention to follow through; ·Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision; ·Strong writing and oral communication skills; comfortable with diverse groups of people; ·Microsoft Office Suite computer skills; ·Experience with constituent relationship management system; ·Attention to detail and strong project management skills; ·Strong sense of customer service  and  demonstrate the ability to respond with urgency to the needs and requests of others, internally and externally and ensure a high degree of responsiveness to all donors without regard to their giving level; ·         Ability to work as part of a team; ·Professional attitude and appearance; ·Willingness and ability to adjust to changing conditions or priorities; ·Take the initiative to identify and act on problems and lead by example. Consistently make decisions that resolve problems.
