Mid-South Food Bank Adds Board Members

Mid-South Food Bank has appointed James Huffman from Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto and Cindy Rantanen from Kroger Delta Division to the board of directors. 

James Huffman is the administrator and chief executive officer for Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven, Mississippi. He was previously administrator and CEO at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany, Mississippi and, before that, Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Union County, where he served as chief financial officer. Huffman has a Bachelor’s degree in health care management from Appalachian State University and a Master’s degree in finance and certificate in health care finance from the University of South Carolina.    

Cindy Rantanen is vice president of merchandising for The Kroger Company's Delta Division.  She is responsible for 109 stores in five states.  Rantanan career in the grocery industry started at a family store in Washington.  She later worked for several grocery companies, joining QFC in 1997, which became a division of Kroger.  She has served in a variety of leadership roles at Kroger.  Previous to being appointed to her present position in 2010, she was vice president of grocery sales planning & direct store delivery.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in marketing from Pacific Lutheran University.
